OMRO IFN S.A. is celebrating European Microfinance Day
OMRO supports microfinance and joins the European initiative launched by the European Microfinance Network (EMN) and Microfinance Center (MFC) and celebrates on 20 October the Microfinance Day along with its customers.
Each year, the European Microfinance Day aims to raise awareness among entrepreneurs on the existence of microfinance on the market, on its impact on fighting unemployment and social exclusion, to provide a framework that facilitates the exchange of experiences within the European microfinance sector and to support the activity of financial institutions in the field.
This year, the 20th of October will not have a main tagline instead it will be based on the famous formula E=mc2. Everybody is familiar with this formula developed by Albert Einstein, whose name always makes us think of creativity, inspiration, imagination. Transposed into the sphere of microfinance, E stands for Entrepreneurship, Empowerment, Employment as a result of the impact of microfinance.
E=mc2 is not just a simple equation. The access to financial services of those excluded from the traditional banking system, combined with additional non-financial services, can have an exponential effect on beneficiaries’ situation and the society. This year’s edition wishes to focus on the impact of non-banking financial institutions on financial inclusion, to further support them in their endeavor to encourage the development of entrepreneurship and employment.
“We are glad to join the EMN and MFC initiative this year and celebrate the European Microfinance Day. We want to be close to the small entrepreneurs, provide them with the financial solutions they need, support their businesses, contribute to the transformation of their lives, their families and the communities they live in” declared János Bereczki, General Director of OMRO IFN S.A.
